At the heart of every veil I create is the embroidery—a feature that allows you to truly personalise your wedding veil. Whether it’s your names, wedding date, or a meaningful symbol, embroidery transforms a veil into a timeless keepsake. My brides often choose to incorporate elements like star signs, handwritten vows, or even illustrations to celebrate their unique stories. The possibilities are as limitless as your imagination, making embroidery the perfect way to customise your embroidered wedding veil.
1. Length and Width: The Foundation of a Customised Veil
One of the first decisions to make when customising your veil is its length and width. This sets the tone for how your veil complements your gown and overall look. From a delicate fingertip veil to a sweeping cathedral length, the choice is yours.
For a dramatic, statement look, a cathedral-length veil is a timeless choice, synonymous with elegance and adding length to your ensemble. While the term "cathedral length" generally refers to a long veil, precise measurements are essential to ensure it complements your gown perfectly. The width, too, is a necessary consideration to match the flow of your dress—whether it’s a sleek silhouette or a gown with a wide sweeping train. I always recommend measuring during your dress fittings, and I’m happy to guide you through the process. If needed, I can also liaise directly with your dress designer or bridal boutique to ensure every detail is just right.

2. Veil Edging Options: A Finishing Touch to Personalise Your Design
The edge of your veil can be as impactful as the embroidery itself. My signature look features clean-cut tulle, allowing the intricate embroidery to take centre stage. However, customisation options like satin ribbon edges or delicate pleats bring another layer of sophistication.
For brides who love a touch of whimsy, a soft ruffle edge can create a playful, romantic vibe. Whatever you envision, your veil’s edge will frame your gown beautifully and complement the overall aesthetic.

3. Add Texture and Depth: 3D Florals for a Bespoke Embroidered Veil
If you’re drawn to romantic textures, why not explore 3D floral embroidery? This technique brings a Rebecca Anne veil to life in new ways, creating a tactile, dimensional effect. Each flower is delicately stitched for an almost sculptural finish that feels modern yet timeless.
A 3D floral veil pairs perfectly with both minimalist gowns and floral-themed weddings, offering a striking look that captures the beauty of nature in every detail.

4. Textures and Embellishments: Stardust Crystals and Pearls
For brides looking to add a hint of sparkle, textures like stardust tulle and pearl embellishments are showstopping options. The limited edition Stardust veil, with scattered crystals, catches the light beautifully, creating a celestial effect. Of course, there is always the option of a true to form celestial design of embroidering the entire tulle in little stars.
Pearl accents, whether scattered across the tulle or added individually to your design, are another timeless way to customise your veil. These details can elevate your look, creating subtle glamour that photographs beautifully.

5. Colour Accents to Customise Your Embroidered Wedding Veil
Colour is a subtle yet powerful way to customise your embroidered wedding veil, adding a layer of personality that reflects your style. While my signature designs embrace the classic ivory and light ivory tones, I have been known to work with striking single-colour accents.
From the dramatic allure of The Black Edit - the launch of which was highly celebrated on Love Story Inspiration last year - to the delicate charm of powder blue, the right hue can elevate your veil to something truly unforgettable. Recently, I’ve also incorporated bold red embroidery into designs for brides seeking a contemporary edge. Whether you're looking for soft neutrals or a daring splash of colour, your veil can be tailored to complement your vision.

FAQs: Answering Your Questions About Custom Veils
Do I need to know exactly what I want before I order?
Not at all! Many brides come to me with just an idea or inspiration. I’ll guide you through the process to ensure we create something perfect for your vision.
How long does it take to design a customised embroidered wedding veil?
The timeline depends on the complexity of the design, but I recommend starting the process at least 12-16 weeks before your wedding day to allow ample time for design, production, and delivery. that being said, if you have only just come across my work, I can have a Priority Service and can turn a veil around in 2-4 weeks if I have availability.
Can I change my veil after ordering?
Small adjustments are possible during the design process, but significant changes could impact the timeline and cost. It’s always best to finalise your ideas before I begin stitching. It is a collaborative process and I include my brides every step of the way to ensure I have design approval before commencing on making the veil itself.
What if I don’t see a customisation option I want?
