Why Choose Handwriting Embroidery on a Veil?
There’s something undeniably powerful about seeing the handwriting of someone you love — the shape of each letter, the familiar curves and flourishes. Now imagine that moment sewn in thread, delicately stitched into the soft tulle of your bridal veil. Handwriting embroidery on a veil adds sentiment and depth to your wedding look, transforming a beautiful accessory into a deeply personal heirloom. Whether you’re planning to include a phrase from a loved one or replicate a snippet of handwriting from a treasured note, this blog will guide you through the possibilities.

Can you have handwriting embroidered on a veil for a wedding?
Yes, absolutely — and it’s one of the most meaningful personalisations I offer at Rebecca Anne Designs. Whether it’s a heartfelt note from a parent, a loved one's signature, a line from your vows, or a favourite phrase written in your partner’s handwriting, this style of embroidery is all about turning words into keepsakes.

Can you embroider someone's handwriting?
Yes — and not just with a handwriting-style font. I can recreate the exact lettering and character of the original handwriting, digitising it from a photo or scan. Every loop and flourish is captured and sewn into the veil as a lasting reminder of that person or moment.
Handwritten Embroidered Veils
Each handwritten embroidered veil begins with your story. Some brides choose a single phrase from a card or letter. Others include several words scattered across the tulle. Whether subtle or bold, the result is always unique to you. Turn your beloved's handwriting into a beautiful, meaningful memento to treasure forever with an embroidered bridal heirloom.
Custom Veil Embroidery – Personalise Your Veil with Words
Your veil becomes a blank page — and the embroidery is the love story. As with all of my designs, we’ll work together to determine the best thread colour, style, and placement to suit your dress, hairstyle, and overall aesthetic.

Embroidered handwriting options
There are a few different ways to include handwritten embroidery on your veil:
One phrase across the width of the train for dramatic, photo-ready detail, in a similar style to my script veils.
A scattering of words, placed all over for a statement design.
Layered script and florals, entwining your chosen words with illustrations.
Placement around the entire edge or hem, especially lovely for fingertip or cathedral veils.
Letter sizes.
Lettering can be adapted in size depending on the overall composition — I’ll guide you through what works best. As a rough guide, handwriting often works beautifully at around 2.5cm–5cm tall.
Embroidery Positioning
Once your veil is cut to size, I lay it out on my pattern table (which has a centimetre grid) and place the templates with precision. Because my embroidery software and hoop sizes are measured in centimetres, this stage is all about balancing the design using metric measurements — even if we worked in inches for the veil cut itself.

How much it costs to have handwriting embroidered onto a veil?
Because handwriting embroidery is so bespoke, prices vary depending on how many words you’d like, the level of detail, and how it fits into your overall design. As a rough guide:
A short phrase starts at £375 for the embroidery and the bespoke made veil.
Larger compositions or multiple lines will be quoted individually.

Looking for a unique gift?
A handwritten embroidered veil makes a beautiful, meaningful present — whether it’s for a bride, a vow renewal, or even as a memorial tribute.
It might be a parent’s signature, a loved one’s handwriting from a birthday card, or the way your partner signs their notes to you. These small details hold big meaning — and embroidery preserves them forever.
Handwritten Letter on your Wedding Veil or Bridal Accessory
In addition to veils, handwriting can also be embroidered onto accessories such as bows or signage. If you’re planning a welcome sign, this can be a beautiful way to echo your veil embroidery throughout the celebration.
