Unique Bridal Veils: Made, Not Manufactured

I shouldn’t say this out loud, but there are now many options available online for ‘embroidered’ veil designs, and many of them can even be personalised or appear to be ‘bespoke’. Much like an original oil painting and its printed copies, they appear to be the same as artisan, unique bridal veils - however, on closer inspection you’ll find the quality, craftsmanship, care and attention to detail are not on par. At Rebecca Anne Designs every piece is made, not mass-manufactured, resulting in a truly bespoke experience and a luxurious statement accessory crafted with time and love.

Let me give you three reasons a tailor-made embroidered veil from Rebecca Anne Designs differs from a widely available alternative, so you can decide for yourself whether to go bespoke.

Defining Unique Bridal Veils

In order for something to be truly unique it must be the only one of its kind. To achieve this inimitable quality in a veil it must be made from scratch, from sketch to stitch, just for you. You will come across many options for personalised embroidered veils online, but they are not all created equal.

At Rebecca Anne Designs we only make truly unique bridal veils and, whilst we produce capsule collections and have a selection of enduring favourite design styles, no two accessories ever leave our studio exactly the same. Some of my designs, such as the custom Poetry veil, pave a clear and easy path to a truly bespoke piece, but even brides choosing from my new Black Edit collection or a Floral design will wear a completely individual veil on their wedding day. There are three main reasons for this, so let’s explore the differences between mass manufactured and tailor-made veil designs.

Rebecca is holding two rolls of tulle used to make her unique veil designs. Her face is obscured by the rolls, but her brand name is visible on the wall behind.

Unique Bridal Veils: Made Vs Manufactured

A Material World

The first thing that sets apart unique bridal veils made from scratch from those that are mass produced is the materials used. From the buttery soft tulle to the silky embroidery threads used at Rebecca Anne Designs, I have refined my selection of materials over the years to prioritise quality, precision and finish. Just as revered fashion designers and master artists are selective about their tools, so too do we place an emphasis on creating the best possible piece for you.

Using luxury materials not only ensures a design that will look incredible and stand the test of time, becoming a treasured heirloom piece, but this attention to detail also makes you feel more fabulous on your wedding day. Marilyn Monroe is famously thought to have said that with the right pair of shoes a woman can conquer the world, and I truly agree that what you wear deeply impacts how you hold yourself, move through space and glow from within. This is never more important than on your wedding day, when you should feel like the most radiant, confident version of yourself - and putting on your unique Rebecca Anne Designs wedding veil is the final piece of that puzzle.

Many mass produced veils use vinyl or separate lace motifs and letters that are cut out and glued onto the tulle, which can, from a distance, look the same as precision embroidered script, but on closer inspection reveal a totally different product.

A Statement, Not An Afterthought

A veil is an accessory but not an afterthought, and at Rebecca Anne Designs we treat it as an important finishing touch to one of the most fabulous outfits you’ll ever wear. Our unique bridal veils are designed to elevate your style and reflect your personality, telling a little of your love story and highlighting the people, moments and memories closest to your heart.

The veil you choose is a reflection of how you want to feel on your wedding day, and you can read all about the special ‘Veil Moment’ in my recent blog. Many of my brides tell me they feel as though their bridal outfit is truly complete the moment they put on their luxury veil, and I believe this is due to the exclusivity of the design process and a truly bespoke piece in every sense of the word.

The Designer Journey

Bespoke veils are a labour intensive process, albeit very definitely a labour of love. The designer journey is complex and highly involved (though a lot of it goes on behind the scenes, so it feels effortless and exciting for you) - and this is why unique veil designs cost more than their mass manufactured counterparts.

You can read more about the bespoke design process and explore the steps involved here. Here’s what Alannah said about the journey:

‘Rebecca is a phenomenal artist and a wonderful professional. The embroidery is stunning and Rebecca really listened to the story of why the design is special which just makes the whole thing even more romantic. Having such a personal touch so beautifully executed was my favourite bit of preparing to be a bride. I adored wearing it and kept it on as long as I possibly could.’
