Your wedding veil is one of the most sentimental accessories you’ll ever wear. But after the day has passed, many brides find themselves wondering what to do with your veil after your wedding—should you store it away, repurpose it, or display it? Instead of letting it sit in a box, there are plenty of beautiful ways to give your veil new life beyond the wedding day.
What to Do With Your Veil After Your Wedding
A Rebecca Anne Designs veil is created with thoughtfulness and intention—so why wear it just once? Many of my brides look for ways to incorporate their veil into their lives long after the wedding, whether that means displaying it, repurposing the embroidery, or even wearing it again. If you're unsure what to do with your veil after your wedding, there are so many ways to honour it beyond the aisle.

5 Ways to Preserve or Repurpose Your Wedding Veil
Whether you want to preserve your veil as an heirloom or transform it into something new, here are five ideas to make the most of your veil after your wedding—some of which I can help with, too!
1. Frame Your Veil as a Keepsake
One of the most elegant ways to preserve your veil is to frame it. Whether you display a section of the embroidery or frame the entire piece in a delicate shadow box, this is a stunning way to keep it on display rather than tucked away. A framed veil becomes a timeless piece of art—something to admire in your home for years to come.
Tip: If you don’t want to chop up your veil, I very often work with my brides on stitching a part of the design to a size with the intention for it to be framed. Some go for a little something to have on their bedside table, others go big for large-scale artwork for the wall!

2. Plan a Post-Wedding Photoshoot
Your wedding day flies by so quickly, and while you’ll have plenty of beautiful photographs, a post-wedding photoshoot gives you the chance to wear your veil again with a more relaxed, editorial approach. Jeremy and I did exactly this for our own post-wedding shoot, and it was the perfect way to capture more moments with my veil in a setting that felt personal to us.
A post-wedding shoot can take place in a meaningful location—perhaps in a city that holds special memories or even somewhere completely different, giving you an excuse to style your wedding look in a new way.

3. Treat It as an Heirloom
Some brides choose to keep their veil as a family heirloom, ready to be passed down through generations. A well-made veil, cared for properly, can be worn by future brides in your family, whether as it is or with new custom embroidery to make it unique to them.
Tip: If you plan to keep your veil as an heirloom, be sure to store it in a breathable garment bag (such as the one provided with your Rebecca Anne Designs veil) and keep it away from direct sunlight. You will have also received a keepsake box with your veil so you could purchase acid-free tissue paper to carefully wrap it within the box.
4. Repurpose Your Veil as a Baby’s Crib Cover
A beautiful way to give your veil new life is by repurposing it as a crib cover for future generations. Many past brides have transformed their veils into delicate, heirloom-quality crib canopies, creating a meaningful connection between their wedding day and the next chapter of their lives.
