Stitching the story together: Ellie's Veil

When Ellie contacted me in the Spring of 2020, I will admit it was a mix of emotions. Joy that she was one of the first fully bespoke clients to come to me (I still feel so privileged every day that brides choose me to create their personalised bridal veils) , excited that she was looking for something unusual and unique (I sure love a challenge) and nervous that I only had a few weeks to design and stitch it (I always try to squeeze in a rush order!).

Ellie had been on my radar for a while - she owns a beautiful bridal boutique in Bath which is one of my favourite nearby

cities - and it was an honour to be approached by a fellow wedding supplier to create her very own bridal veil.

Ellie was looking for something unique. Inspired by the Angelina Jolie's veil, Ellie wanted to create her own storyboard veil adorned with meaningful motifs that were a reflection of hers and Ollie's relationship. It is by far the most personal and expressive veil I have had the pleasure of creating. Ellie's design has already inspired brides to follow a similar path with their bespoke Rebecca Anne veils.

Here's what Ellie had to say about her veil...

Did you always know you’d like to wear a veil on your wedding day?

Yes, a veil is always a must in my eye's. So romantic and feminine.

What attracted you to come to Rebecca Anne Designs for your veil?

I loved the idea of creating something unique and personal. Once I found out that this was something Rebecca Anne Designs provided I know I had to reach out and start talking about ideas.

Did you know what design you wanted straight away?

Yes, It had to be different and I had always loved the idea of having places, sayings, dates and symbols that meant something to us.

What were people’s reactions to the veil on the day?

My family loved the veil and I've received so many compliments through Instagram.

What veil design did you choose and how was your experience from first contact to delivery of your veil?

My veil was a custom piece Rebecca Anne and I designed. I wanted to go for a ‘story board’ feel, with all the images representing something important to Oliver and I. Among the embroidery there were pictures of our Dachshund, the Brooklyn bridge, our house number, the beach hut where Oliver proposed in Langland, Wales and our first holiday together. I loved my veil so much I didn’t take it off all day!
